The real time auralisation of a large number of propagation paths in an outdoor environment is a big challenge in virtual acoustics. Many current renderers either use outdated concepts, or rely on pre-computation. Several ideas which can be used to decrease the large computation time associated with generating and auralising paths for a complex scene have been developed at ITA in recent years. This work draws on these, including path clustering and variable delay lines, and incorporates a novel DSP structure to create a highly efficient rendering module for VA. In this talk, the new „Outdoor Noise“ renderer is presented and discussed.
