SUMMARY:Konrad: Numerical study of nonlinear factors in acoustic scale model measurements
DESCRIPTION:This thesis focuses on investigating the effects of atmospheric attenuation when employing scale models\, with the ultimate goal of improving their application in the study of noise in urban regions. While direct measurements within urban regions are feasible\, they may encounter problems\, such as noise. For those reasons\, there has been a resurgence of interest in utilizing scale models. However\, significant discrepancies arise at high frequencies when comparing scaled results from scale models with those from full-size models\, primarily attributed to atmospheric attenuation\, influenced by temperature\, humidity\, and static pressure. \nThe primary objective of this thesis is to explore the physics of atmospheric attenuation and investigate a correction method specifically tailored for addressing deviations in scale models. Using a Boundary Element Method (BEM) simulation in COMSOL Multiphysics\, atmospheric attenuation is computed for various humidity and temperature conditions. A correction is then applied to the results and analyzed. \nAdditionally\, the thesis extends to an investigation of the hemi-anechoic room at the IHTA\, examining variations in temperature\, humidity\, and pressure. This analysis aims to comprehend the room’s behavior and provide insights into considerations for conducting scale model experiments within this environment. \nMelden Sie sich hier an um Einladungen zu den Kolloquium-Vorträgen per E-Mail zu erhalten.\nRegister here to receive the invitations to colloquium talks via e-mail. \nZoom-Meeting-ID: 954 4073 3814\nPasswort: 450783
