SUMMARY:Las Heras: Room Acoustic Auditory Memory
DESCRIPTION:This study conforms an investigation on auditory memory\, particularly in the field of room acoustics. Based on the research on short term memory\, especially in the auditory field\, this work intends to test individuals‘ room acoustics discrimination capabilities under different conditions; in particular\, retention interval\, excitation signal and room similarity. Using binaural auralizations of spatial measurements of real rooms with anechoich speech\, two listening tests were conducted. The first one focused on exploring the perceptual space of room acoustics using an adaptation of a sensory profiling approach. The second listening experiment was targeted on measuring subjects‘ discrimination ability under the aforementioned conditions.
