SUMMARY:Liu: Enhancing Tonality Prediction Using Neural Network
DESCRIPTION:This presentation is about my industrial internship tasks at HEAD acoustics GmbH in the Sound Vibration Perception (SVP) department\, with a focus on the development and utilization of a neural network for tonality prediction. During my internship\, the neural network\, designed to accelerate tonality calculations\, achieved a nearly twofold increase in speed compared to the original method. In this presentation\, the steps\, from database generation to neural network training and validation\, will be explained in detail. The predicted results from the neural network and its possible further development will also be shown. While the neural network has fulfilled our goal of precision for the prediction of tonality\, further enhancement can still be explored in the future. \nMelden Sie sich hier an um Einladungen zu den Kolloquium-Vorträgen per E-Mail zu erhalten.\nRegister here to receive the invitations to colloquium talks via e-mail. \nZoom-Meeting-ID: 954 4073 3814\nPasswort: 450783

SUMMARY:Katz: Experimental virtual archaeological-acoustics - Bringing auditory experience into social science and architectural research and design
DESCRIPTION:Research in historical musical acoustics has traditionally emphasized instrument fabrication\, material choices\, and construction impact. Similarly\, musicological\, theatrical\, and religious studies have delved into various aspects of historical contexts. However\, little attention has been given to acoustical conditions crucial for human-to-human communication in these scenarios. Recent advancements in computational accuracy and virtual reality simulations\, inspired by experimental archaeology\, now enable ecologically valid auditory reconstructions of historic sites. Several studies\, including Notre-Dame de Paris and the Palace of the Popes in Avignon\, employ these techniques\, presenting significant results. Developed VR tools like Anaglyph binaural renderer and RoomZ spatializer aid in immersive audio rendering and dynamic movements. These tools\, adaptable to DAWs\, facilitate „live“ performances in virtual historic venues\, allowing real-time adaptation of source directives and dynamic displacement. Observations on acoustic variations‘ impact on performers and audience interpretation contribute to understanding historical contexts. Additionally\, VR models and tools are utilized for public communication through live performances\, cinematic reconstructions\, audio podcasts\, and musicographic installations. \nThis talk is part of the PAADtalks! series. \nMelden Sie sich hier an um Einladungen zu den Kolloquium-Vorträgen per E-Mail zu erhalten.\nRegister here to receive the invitations to colloquium talks via e-mail. \nZoom-Meeting-ID: 954 4073 3814\nPasswort: 450783

SUMMARY:Pan: Analysis of Surface Scattering Basing on Numerical Simulation
DESCRIPTION:Directional scattering patterns of surface contain much more detail information than the single number quantities of scattering and diffusion coefficients. In the development of acoustic computer simulation\, more accurate results and natural sound perception of auralization requires more detail information about sound propagation. In this study\, two methods are used for spatial clustering of scattered pattern in dependence on frequency\, incidence angles and surface profile (period length ᴧ). Finally\, we discuss a more specific evaluation of the directional scattering effect. \nMelden Sie sich hier an um Einladungen zu den Kolloquium-Vorträgen per E-Mail zu erhalten.\nRegister here to receive the invitations to colloquium talks via e-mail. \nZoom-Meeting-ID: 954 4073 3814\nPasswort: 450783
