The creation of the 3D model requires modeling expertise and time. Additionally, the variety of model strategies makes this process difficult to reproduce. In contrast, Photogrammetry techniques can economically achieve valid representations of rooms. However, the models created using Photogrammetry are aimed at visualization purposes. The models are usually too detailed for an acoustic simulation program. Therefore, the acoustically irrelevant details in the 3D models are desired to be removed for an acoustic simulation.<\/p>\n<p>For this reason, we studied a 3D model created using the Photogrammetry technique. We derived several simplified models with different reduction rates using the geometry reduction algorithm from the Photogrammetry 3D model. Furthermore, we performed the manual material assignment and the semi-automatic material assignment on the models. Acoustic simulations are used to evaluate the models with different reduction rates and different material assignment approaches.
