{"id":1172,"date":"2020-11-25T15:19:10","date_gmt":"2020-11-25T14:19:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/akustik\/?p=1172"},"modified":"2020-11-26T09:31:29","modified_gmt":"2020-11-26T08:31:29","slug":"doctoral-award-2020-for-dr-josep-llorca-bofi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/akustik\/doctoral-award-2020-for-dr-josep-llorca-bofi\/","title":{"rendered":"Doctoral Award 2020 for Dr. Josep Llorca-Bof\u00ed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For his excellent PhD thesis, ITA&#8217;s postdoctoral researcher <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akustik.rwth-aachen.de\/cms\/Technische-Akustik\/Das-Institut\/Team\/TA-Team\/~pnuh\/Josep-Llorca-Bofi\/?contact=aaaaaaaaaakmdwy&amp;lidx=1\">Dr. Josep Llorca-Bof\u00ed<\/a> received the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upc.edu\/en\/press-room\/news\/the-doctoral-school-welcomes-new-students-and-presents-the-special-awards-remotely-on-6-november\">Special Doctoral Award 2020<\/a> given by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upc.edu\/ca\">Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya<\/a> (UPC). The award was presented to him and 30 other doctoral degree holders in a virtual event on November 6<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020. In this edition the awards are given to doctoral degree holders who obtained a <em>cum laude<\/em> distinction for the defence of their thesis in the 2017-2018 academic year.<\/p>\n<p>Josep&#8217;s thesis with the title<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>&#8220;The generative, analytic and instructional capacities of sound in architecture:<br \/>\nfundamentals, tools and evaluation of a design methodology&#8220;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>connects the fields of architecture, acoustics and engineering and is published <a href=\"https:\/\/upcommons.upc.edu\/handle\/2117\/125838\">Open
