{"id":2840,"date":"2023-11-17T08:30:15","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T07:30:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/akustik\/?p=2840"},"modified":"2023-11-16T11:13:40","modified_gmt":"2023-11-16T10:13:40","slug":"international-conference-on-auditorium-acoustics-2023-in-athens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/akustik\/international-conference-on-auditorium-acoustics-2023-in-athens\/","title":{"rendered":"International Conference on Auditorium Acoustics 2023 in Athens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From September 28th to 30th, the Institute of Acoustics has held the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ioa.org.uk\/civicrm\/event\/info?reset=1&amp;id=717\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">11th International Conference on Auditorium Acoustics<\/a> at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens, Greece. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akustik.rwth-aachen.de\/cms\/Institut-fuer-Hoertechnik-und-Akustik\/Das-Institut\/Team\/TA-Team\/~myjqa\/Jonas-Heck\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jonas Heck<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akustik.rwth-aachen.de\/cms\/Institut-fuer-Hoertechnik-und-Akustik\/Das-Institut\/Team\/TA-Team\/~pnuh\/Josep-Llorca-Bofi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Josep Llorca-Bof\u00ed<\/a> as well as our alumnus Ingo Witew presented their research in the field of concert halls and room acoustics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jonas Heck, Josep Llorca-Bof\u00ed and Michael Vorl\u00e4nder: Concert Halls in Virtual Reality &#8211; From Audio-visual Perception to a Common Vocabulary<\/li>\n<li>Ingo Witew and Michael Vorl\u00e4nder: Measurements in room acoustics &#8211; How good are we at it?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the first conference day, Jonas Heck and Josep Llorca-Bof\u00ed organized a round table to discuss the importance of descriptive vocabulary which can be used to depict the perception in concert halls. The poster &#8222;Concert Halls in Virtual Reality &#8211; From Audio-visual Perception to a Common Vocabulary&#8220; was accompanied by a demonstration of a recent experiment in virtual reality.
