More than 1500 delegates participated in this conference and presented interesting research in the field of acoustics and noise. Highlights of the conference included a plenary talk by <a href=\"https:\/\/internoise2024.org\/plenary-keynote-lectures\/#CanAumond\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Arnaud Can and Pierre Aumond<\/a> (Joint Research Unit in Environmental Acoustics at Gustave Eiffel University, Nantes, France) on advanced characterization of urban sound environments and a keynote lecture about the child perspective on noise exposure and health effects, held by <a href=\"https:\/\/internoise2024.org\/plenary-keynote-lectures\/#Persson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kerstin Persson Waye<\/a> from Gothenburg University, Sweden, who is also collaborating with IHTA in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equal-life.eu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Equal-Life project.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Members of IHTA travelled to the conference and presented the following research papers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chalotorn M\u00f6hlmann: Validation measurement of vehicle pass-by models for dynamic urban environments (results of the <a href=\"https:\/\/balsam-projekt.de\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BaLSaM project<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Marco Berzborn: <span id=\"page201R_mcid76\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Inference of the acoustic properties of transversely isotropic porous <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">materials<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Lara St\u00fcrenburg: <span id=\"page111R_mcid61\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Loudness and preference judgments for noises of a heat pump (results of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akustik.rwth-aachen.de\/go\/id\/fwmf\/file\/50\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LowNoise project<\/a>)<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Joao Fatela (Guest researcher from the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, Naples, Italy):<br \/>\nAn experimental setup to investigate relevant validation parameters for the auralization of commercial aircraft flyovers in complex urban contexts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Directly after the closing ceremony of the conference, the satellite workshop \u201cUnlocking the Potential of Open Research Software in Acoustics at Inter-Noise 2024\u201d started. This event was organized by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tue.nl\/en\/research\/researchers\/maarten-hornikx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maarten Hornikx<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/huiqing-wang-2596544a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Huiqing Wang<\/a>, from the <span id=\"OBJ_PREFIX_DWT16489_com_zimbra_url\" class=\"Object\" role=\"link\"><a title=\"https:\/\/building-acoustics.net\/\" href=\"https:\/\/building-acoustics.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Building Acoustics team<\/a><\/span> of Eindhoven University of Technology, and included interesting exchanges and presentation on the development, maintenance, documentation and distrubtion of acoustics-related open-source software. As one of four invited speakers, Lukas Asp\u00f6ck held a presentation about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.virtualacoustics.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IHTA&#8217;s auralization software Virtual Acoustics<\/a>. The slides of this presentation are <a href=\"https:\/\/rwth-aachen.sciebo.de\/s\/5ex1k9m1qqFMJmV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">available for download (CC BY-SA 4.0)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Next to insightful overview presentations by Maarten Hornikx and Huiqing Wang, further successful research software was presented: <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/LCAV\/pyroomacoustics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pyroomacoustics<\/a> by Eric Bezzam, <a href=\"https:\/\/noise-planet.org\/noisemodelling.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NoiseModelling<\/a> by Pierre Aumond and <a href=\"https:\/\/soundscapy.readthedocs.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SoundScapy<\/a> by Andrew Mitchell, along with many examples of challanges and best practices for open research and open-source software development.
