DESCRIPTION:October 05-06\, 2021 in Aachen/Germany\, online participation possible\n \nLithium ion battery storage as stationary energy storage is the focus of the seminar. The topics of economy\, technology and safety are discussed in detail. \nContent \nThe costs for battery storage systems have been falling rapidly for years – this opens up numerous opportunities for new market segments. The seminar illustrates the current market opportunities for stationary storage systems (storage) and provides comprehensive background knowledge on current technical developments. \nLithium-ion batteries (accumulators) with their performance and safety characteristics\, development potentials and system-related requirements will be discussed in detail. In addition\, both classic storage technologies such as lead-acid batteries or pumped storage power plants as well as innovative developments such as redox flow and high-temperature batteries are considered for comparison. \nThe seminar covers the entire value chain of storage systems ‘from the cell to the application’: \nThere will be practice-relevant discussions on battery management systems\, pack design and thermal management as well as optimal storage dimensioning and economic efficiency according to the EEG amendment. Storage systems are an important building block for the energy turnaround. Without energy storage (electricity storage) the so-called dark lull cannot be overcome. Photovoltaic systems in combination with electricity storage systems (accumulators) are playing an increasingly important role in the private sector. \nAbout the topic \nStorage systems will play a key role in future power grids. Falling battery storage prices will ensure in just a few years that a local supply of photovoltaic systems and home storage in Germany will be cheaper than purchasing grid electricity. Already today\, battery storage systems are taking over more and more parts of the classic system services\, especially the primary control power. After all\, the increasing share of electric vehicles in Germany will soon make enormous storage capacities available in traction batteries that can be used for innovative business areas. \nIn all cases\, affected companies must take early action to be able to use this change to their advantage. \nFurther information: www.hdt.de

Last but not least\, the constructive company cooperations\, which enable our students to gain insight and participate in interesting projects and theses\, are also responsible for this success. \nWe would like to present this success at the 22nd Day of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology\, which will take place on November 12\, 2021\, and bring together companies\, students\, faculty members and graduates digitally. As we are not able to see our students off in presence this year\, we will organize an extraordinary Electrical Engineering and Information Technology Day on A.2021\, where we will reunite not only our graduates and all faculty members but also our partners in presence.

They are convinced that gender justice is not only good and important for women\, but also for men and society. \nIn their lecture “Compatibility is Teamwork! Why it takes the joint effort of men and women” they explain why a successful work-life balance is essential for all people\, regardless of gender. \nIn view of the changing image of the family\, the shortage of skilled workers and the increasing demand for gender equality and diversity in the world of work\, not only people in the family formation phase should deal with the topic\, but also everyone who wants to expand their leadership skills and work for more diverse teams. Herr & Speer are convinced: Whether at home or at work\, no one can avoid questions of gender equality any more. There is a great opportunity in this – for everyone!

DESCRIPTION:Am 12.01.2022 spricht Prof. Dr. Dirk Uwe Sauer​ in einem Zoom-Webinar von 17:00 – 18:30 Uhr über die Energiewende und welche Rolle die Batterietechnik hierbei übernehmen könnte. \n \nInhalt \nDie Herausforderungen für die Energiewende sind lange bekannt. Die Nachschärfungen durch EU und Bundesregierung werden nun Veränderungen und Umsetzung beschleunigen. \nDie Energieversorgung wird in Zukunft in Form von Strom aus Windkraft- und Photovoltaikanlagen bestimmt sein. Das bedeutet\, dass ein vernetztes\, intelligentes und gekoppeltes Energiesystem benötigt wird\, um die Fluktuationen in der Stromerzeugung und im Energieverbrauch so effizient wie möglich auszugleichen. Gleichzeitig gilt es\, wo immer möglich\, Strom als die höchstwertige Energieform direkt zu nutzen. Daraus ergibt sich ein hoher Bedarf für Batteriesysteme\, in stationären Anwendungen im Stromnetz und in mobilen Anwendungen. \nDer Vortrag beleuchtet den Stand der Batterietechnik und die bereits erreichten technologischen Fortschritte bzgl. Ressourceneinsatz\, Lebensdauer\, Wirkungsgrad sowie Leistungs- und Schnelllade- fähigkeit. Daraus lassen sich Einsatz und Nutzen in stationären Anwendungen z.B. zur Stabilisierung des Stromnetzes oder zur Nutzung des Stroms aus einer eigenen PV-Anlagen ebenso ableiten\, wie auch in mobilen Anwendungen z.B. in den Bereichen PKW\, Busse & Bahnen\, LKW oder Gabelstapler. Darüber hinaus werden wichtige Technologietrends und deren Chancen und Risiken diskutiert. \nDer Vortrag wird aufgezeichnet\, sodass er auch zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt angesehen werden kann.\nDie Zugangsdaten können über den QR-Code eingesehen werden. \n
