What it’s about<\/span><\/h3>\n

IDEA stands for Improving Data Engagement and Advocacy and that’s what it’s all about. It’s moderated by Briana Wham and Shannon Sheridan. Conversations with data stewards who are engaging their researchers in new and innovative ways will look at what’s working well in research data management – or not. Listeners will also learn about helpful publications worth reading.<\/p>\n

For researchers in university settings, the lack of standardized workflows for research data is a major challenge. The difficulty for data professionals who want to support researchers appropriately is connecting with researchers at the right time.<\/p>\n

In the first episode, Sarah Hauserman<\/a>, Research Data Manager at Harvard Medical School, Research Computing, and Julie Goldman<\/a>, Countway Research Data Services Librarian at Harvard Library, share how they coordinated a partnership between data professionals in the library, research labs, and information technology departments to improve institutional data services. This includes creating resources and reaching out to researchers during their onboarding and offboarding processes.<\/p>\n
