The last article<\/a> in our series on “RDM projects in Germany<\/a>” (only available in German) was published over a year ago. Perhaps one or two of our readers can still remember it. Now it is time to dust off the series again and revive it, because there is a new project in which Research Data Danagement itself is the subject of investigation. May we introduce? Project EVER_RDM – Development and Dissemination of Research Data Management at Universities of Applied Sciences.<\/p>\n

The Project<\/span><\/h3>\n

By means of a standardized online survey, the Research Center for Demographic Change (FZDW)<\/a> of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (Frankfurt UAS)<\/a> would like to draw a comprehensive picture of RDM at German Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS). In doing so, the RDM-related knowledge of the scientific staff as well as previous RDM activities and RDM needs will be recorded.<\/p>\n

The aim of the EVER_RDM project is to further develop measures to promote RDM in a more tailored manner. Such an investigation also offers the potential to generate new and relevant impulses for national actors e.g regarding the role of UAS in the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) as well as fresh impulses in the field of science policy. In order to uncover specific and possibly hidden problems and needs, five regionally distributed discussion rounds will additionally be held, involving the administrative level and accompanied by experts.<\/p>\n

The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)<\/a> for a period of one year.<\/p>\n

Procedure & Results<\/span><\/h3>\n

The survey is carried out by means of a specially developed online questionnaire which, in addition to the type of research data used, covers in particular the three topics of RDM awareness, RDM activities and RDM needs.<\/p>\n

The results will be published including collected research data and according to FAIR principles in a suitable repository. You will be informed about first results on the project page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The project is expected to run until May 31, 2023.<\/p>\n
