This article is part of our series “Central RDM Services at RWTH Aachen<\/a>\u201c. It is intended to show our researchers – i.e. you – which RDM services are offered at RWTH Aachen University to support you in your research and data management. We talk to the people responsible for the services and collect all the information for you in the individual articles. In this article, we would like to introduce you to the RDM service \u201cRWTH Publications for research data\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Source: Own Illustration<\/p><\/div>\n <\/p>\n A researcher would like to make his or her data publicly available for re-use. It should be noted that the data published for re-use must be finalized.<\/p>\n In general, research results become more visible when data is published and cited. This promotes scientific reputation.<\/p>\n It also enables other researchers to access relevant data and check whether it offers added value for their own study. In this way, research results can be better utilized through integration and re-analysis. Publishing research data may even lead to new collaborations.<\/p>\n If you do not (yet) wish to publish, you can use RWTH Publications to reference archived data. This is very suitable for dissertations, for example.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n RWTH Publications is the institutional repository of RWTH Aachen University. You can publish your research results there as dissertations, reports, preprints or conference proceedings. In addition, all RWTH publications are documented.<\/p>\n Since 2016, you can also publish your research data in RWTH Publications. The RDM service enables members of RWTH Aachen University to make their research data permanently and free of charge publicly available., This increases the visibility of research results and improves the transfer of knowledge..<\/p>\n All publications in RWTH Publications are permanently available and can be cited via DOI.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The publication of research data on RWTH Publications is restricted to members of RWTH Aachen University. Detailed information can be found in the guidelines for working with RWTH Publications<\/a>.<\/p>\n The reuse of published content is open to all interested parties, whether internal or external. The standardized metadata of all publications are delivered to many databases, e.g. Base<\/a> and OpenAIRE<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n RWTH Publications is operated by the RWTH University Library<\/a>. It is also registered with DataCite<\/a> as the DOI allocation office for RWTH. The infrastructure of the IT Center<\/a> is used for data storage. The published research data is permanently available. Published data can no longer be changed or deleted.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n RWTH Publications enables the dissemination and re-use of research data for RWTH scientists.
