DESCRIPTION:Source: RDM Team RWTH Aachen University \nThe English-language FDM-Werkstatt will take place in Düsseldorf from March 23 to 25\, 2026. The community format is dedicated to practical Research Data Management tools and is aimed at researchers\, data stewards\, and anyone else who is interested\, regardless of their level of experience. \nThe focus is on interactive hands-on sessions in which various applications are tried out and discussed together. The program covers topics ranging from data management planning and documentation to analysis and collaborative working methods within the RDM community. \nRWTH Aachen University will also be represented with several contributions. Among other things\, Coscine\, RDMO\, ROOT Tools\, and Python-based workflows will be presented. In addition\, RWTH staff will present a contribution on knowledge exchange and peer-to-peer structures within the community. \nThe event offers the opportunity to gain practical experience with RDM tools\, network with other institutions\, and gain new inspiration for your own work context. DESCRIPTION:Source: fdm.nrw \nOn November 12\, 2024\, Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) and RWTH Aachen University will host the 4th Day of Research Data in NRW\, a full-day event on research data management (RDM) and data science. The morning program will be organized by the state initiative fdm.nrw and broadcast as an online program (in German) in the lecture hall of the PGI. In the afternoon\, the focus will be on regional networks under the motto “Successful research networks: growing together with data” (in English). Tools and services in the field of RDM and data science will be presented in interactive and practical sessions. Participants can explore two of the following topics in depth: \n\nDe.KCD: Research Data Management in the Cloud\nDKZ.2R: Reducing data-related hurdles in research\nHDS-LEE: Data-intensive workflows in science\nHMC: Organizing software metadata with Somesy and FAIR Python Cookiecutter\n\nThe afternoon program ends with a poster session and an open exchange over drinks and pastries\, where participants can network and present their own projects. Einen relevanten Beitrag dazu können bereits vorhandene Forschungsdaten – wie beispielsweise Messwerte aus anderen Versuchen\, Materialkennwerte\, bereits vorhandene Auswertungsskripte oder Umfrageergebnisse – liefern. \nViele Forschungsdaten sind frei zugänglich und können beispielsweise in der DataCite Suche recherchiert werden. Darüber hinaus gibt es aufwändig kuratierte Daten zu denen Sie durch eine Lizenz der Universitätsbibliothek Zugang haben. In diesem Workshop lernen Sie davon überblicksartig Datenbanken für Materialkennwerte (SpringerMaterials und Total Materia) und statistische Daten (Statista) kennen. \nVoraussetzung für diesen Workshop ist die Teilnahme am Selbstlern-Kurs „Überblick zum Management von Forschungsdaten (FDM I-online)“ oder „Research Data Management – an Overview (RDM I – online)“ \nDer Online-Workshop Recherche nach Forschungsdaten (FDM II-modular) findet am 17.Mai 2023 von 10 bis 12:00 Uhr.
