In this training\,  the students/participants will gain an overview and obtain hand-on experience on the most relevant machine learning algorithms for theoretical simulations\, experimental characterization\, and in general statistical analysis in materials science. The participants will work with established packages within Python to develop their own simple machine learning based programs\, and are going to tackle a challenging project. Though exemplary datasets\, the participants will practice to apply appropriate methods to basic materials science problems\, in particular Machine Learning assisted image segmentation\, Machine-learning interatomic potentials\, microstructure-property correlation analysis\, and data-driven multiscale modeling.

Our findings indicate that HPC users underutilize SLURM’s capabilities as a Workflow Management System (WfMS)\, missing out on workflow benefits such as error reduction and time efficiency. Guiding users to run jobs with proper interdependencies on SLURM can enhance logging for more effective PM analysis.

It is the basis for the follow-up event PPCES 2025. It focus on CLAIX-2023\, the cluster that has been installed end of 2023 at the RWTH Aachen University’s IT Center. \nThe first part provides basic information about HPC resources and targets not only HPC users but also decision makers. It provides information for the participants to take strategic decisions concerning employment of HPC resources and filing applications for computing projects consuming a decent amount of resources. This workshop will teach you AutoML-methods which aim to automate ML-pipelines\, thus helping non-experts to use ML-models in (near) optimal ways with a minimum of knowledge required. This workshop aims to introduce AutoML-methods which can be used out of the box and give some theoretical intuition on how they work and what they can be used for.

This is especially true for data describing physical phenomena\, from blood flow simulations to combustion processes. The de-facto standard tool for visualization in these domains is ParaView. It is an open-source\, multi-platform scientific data analysis and visualization tool that enables analysis and visualization of extremely large datasets. \nIn this course\, attendants will learn the basics of scientific visualization and how these can be applied in ParaView\, including filtering\, rendering\, and animating complex data. \nInformation about CSG Visualization

Auch in diesem Jahr erwartet euch eine spannende Workshop-Reihe rund um MATLAB\, Simulink und High Performance Computing. \nDer zweite Workshop der Reihe „Parallel Computing with MATLAB“ richtet sich an Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen\, die im Forschungsalltag regelmäßig selbst Software entwickeln. Vermittelt werden Grundlagen guter Programmierpraxis: von der sauberen Code-Strukturierung über Versionskontrolle mit Git bis hin zu Unit-Tests und reproduzierbaren Arbeitsumgebungen.
