SUMMARY:[:en]NHR4CES Community Workshop 2026[:]
DESCRIPTION:Name: NHR4CES Community Workshop 2026 “From Raw Data to Real Insights: Synergizing Data Engineering and AI for HPC” \nDate: May 11 -12\, 2026 \nFormat: online \nMore information & registration \n  \n\n\nDescription\nWith the continuous expansion of High-Performance Computing (HPC) capabilities\, researchers are facing an unprecedented abundance of research data. To effectively harness this potential\, isolated approaches are no longer sufficient; instead\, a synergy of robust data management and advanced analytics is required. \nThis workshop\, organized by the CSG Data Engineering & AI\, addresses the complete data lifecycle on HPC systems. We will explore how to bridge the gap between raw infrastructure and scientific discovery by integrating Research Data Management (RDM)\, Automated Data Engineering\, and Artificial Intelligence. The session will cover strategies ranging from workflows for ensuring data quality and storage\, to applying Machine Learning and Process Mining for deeper analysis. By focusing on these intersecting disciplines\, we aim to demonstrate how researchers can achieve scalable\, reproducible results that adhere to FAIR principles\, ultimately transforming raw data into real\, actionable insights. \nHosted by: CSG Data Engineering & AI – NHR4CES

SUMMARY:[:en]NHR4CES - Introduction to Scientific Visualization with ParaView[:]
DESCRIPTION:Name: Introduction to Scientific Visualization with ParaView \nDate: May 13\, 2026 \nFormat: online \nMore information & registration \n  \n\n  \nDescription\n\n\nShort abstract:\n\n\nScientific Visualization allows researchers to gain visual insights into complex data\, that would otherwise be hidden within numbers and models. This is especially true for data describing physical phenomena\, from blood flow simulations to combustion processes. The de-facto standard tool for visualization in these domains is ParaView. It is an open-source\, multi-platform scientific data analysis and visualization tool that enables analysis and visualization of extremely large datasets. \nIn this course\, attendants will learn the basics of scientific visualization and how these can be applied in ParaView\, including filtering\, rendering\, and animating complex data. \nInformation about SDL Energy Conversion

SUMMARY:[:en]NHR4CES - Numerical Methods for Combustion[:]
DESCRIPTION:Name: Numerical Methods for Combustion \nDate: November 20\, 2026 \nFormat: online \nMore information & registration \n  \n\n  \nDescription\n\n\nShort abstract:\nIn the face of climate change and its undeniable threats to humanity\, the urgency for transitioning to CO2-free or carbon-neutral energy systems is paramount. While the future of energy conversion will be largely dominated by renewable sources\, such as wind and solar power\, combustion technologies will continue to play a crucial role in meeting the world’s growing energy demands\, especially in the near term. The expected rise in alternative fuels—such as biofuels\, e-fuels\, and green hydrogen—demands a deeper understanding of combustion processes to ensure cleaner\, safer\, and more efficient energy generation. Accurately simulating combustion\, however\, is a formidable challenge due to its inherently multi-physics nature\, involving complex interactions between turbulence\, chemistry\, and multi-species flows. \nThis workshop will focus on advanced numerical methods for modeling and simulating combustion phenomena in high-performance computing environments. Participants will gain insights into cutting-edge techniques and numerical methods\, covering topics such as combustion closure modeling\, load-balancing techniques\, soot formation\, and more. The workshop aims to gather different research groups\, providing a venue to exchange new ideas\, discuss challenges\, and expose this new research field to a broader community. \nFurther information: This training is given twice a year\, presenting our latest research\, to provide sufficient and up-to-date insights regarding the combustion modeling to the audience. \nInformation about SDL Energy Conversion
