{"id":6382,"date":"2023-03-15T10:09:44","date_gmt":"2023-03-15T09:09:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc-events\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=6382"},"modified":"2023-03-16T13:48:59","modified_gmt":"2023-03-16T12:48:59","slug":"deep-learning-with-images-in-matlab","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc-events\/event\/deep-learning-with-images-in-matlab\/","title":{"rendered":"Deep Learning with Images in MATLAB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"qtranxs-available-languages-message qtranxs-available-languages-message-de\">Der Eintrag ist nur auf <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc-events\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tribe_events\/6382\" class=\"qtranxs-available-language-link qtranxs-available-language-link-en\" title=\"English\">English<\/a> verf\u00fcgbar.<\/p><p><strong>Flipped Classroom: Online Training &amp; Live Session<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Online Training: Self-paced, approximately 2 hours<\/p>\n<p>Live Session: Tuesday June 6<sup>th<\/sup>, 2 PM \u2013 3:30 PM (90 minutes)<\/p>\n<p>Instructor: Dr. Franziska Albers, The MathWorks Academia Team<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In this training you will learn how to apply deep learning in MATLAB using image classification as an example.<\/p>\n<p>We will use a flipped classroom style: you will work through the online course \u201cDeep Learning Onramp\u201d on your own and afterwards we will meet for a live session.<\/p>\n<p><u>The online course covers:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic idea of deep learning<\/li>\n<li>Basics of convolutional neural networks<\/li>\n<li>How to make predictions with pretrained networks<\/li>\n<li>How to manage collections of image data<\/li>\n<li>How to perform transfer learning to fine-tune a pretrained network with your own data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>In our live session we will:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discuss your questions<\/li>\n<li>Discuss how to build a convolutional neural network from scratch<\/li>\n<li>Use a convolutional neural network for regression<\/li>\n<li>Discuss how you can learn more \u2013 so you can tackle your own deep learning projects in MATLAB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Prerequisites<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will need a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/academia\/tah-portal\/rwth-aachen-30355462.html\">MathWorks account<\/a> and some basic MATLAB skills to join this training<strong>. You are expected to complete the <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/matlabacademy.mathworks.com\/details\/deep-learning-onramp\/deeplearning\"><strong>Deep Learning Onramp<\/strong><\/a><strong> before joining the live session<\/strong>. The onramp takes approximately two hours to complete.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is this for?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The training is for students and researchers who want to get started with deep learning in MATLAB.
