This means that employees have returned to the offices, personal support is again being offered and events are taking place on site.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00549f;\">Events<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>However, at the beginning of the year there were still some<strong> online events<\/strong> in which the IT Center participated.<\/p>\n<p>Among other things the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/02\/21\/hpc-intro-2022\/\">HPC Introduction<\/a> was held for all interested parties and users of HPC, followed by the HPC seminar, the virtual <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/03\/14\/ppces2022\/\">PPCES<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> semester MATSEs had the opportunity to present their projects at the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/02\/25\/softwaretechnik-messe\/\">Software Technology Fair<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Other events in which the IT Center participated in were the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/04\/08\/rwthwelcomeweek\/\">#RWTHWelcomeWeek<\/a> to welcome international students, the nationwide <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/04\/29\/kick-off-idm-nrw\/\">kick-off of the IDM.nrw<\/a> project to raise interest and communicate project goals as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/05\/06\/isc22\/\">ISC High Performance Conference<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, this is not all: Several events could be held <strong>on site<\/strong> again.<\/p>\n<p>Employees had the chance to experience the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/11\/28\/sc22\/\">SC22<\/a> and also the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/06\/17\/republica\/\">re:publica<\/a> in Berlin.<br \/>\nFurthermore, the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/05\/23\/aci-konferenz-22\/\">ACI conference<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/07\/20\/steuerungsgruppe\/\">steering group meeting<\/a> and the annual workshop for HPC users, the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc-events\/en\/event\/aixcelerate-2022\/\">aiXcelerate<\/a> were held at the premises of the IT Center.<\/p>\n<p>There were also some <strong>festivities<\/strong> to catch up on:<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of August, we had the pleasure to celebrate our annual <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/08\/26\/it-center-sommerfest-2022\/\">summer party<\/a>, where old and new employees could meet and get to know each other after a long time.<br \/>\nTo the delight of all employees both the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/11\/04\/betriebsausflug-2022\/\">company trip<\/a> and the IT Center\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/12\/23\/weihnachtsfest-auf-dem-ersten-it-center-weihnachtsmarkt\/\">Christmas party<\/a> took place in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>The IT Center was also active in sports. In September, nine runners took part in the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/09\/28\/9-aachener-firmenlauf\/\">Aachen company run<\/a> to support non-profit projects.<\/p>\n<p>As every year, the new <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/09\/16\/willkommen-neue-matse-azubis\/\">MATSE trainees<\/a> were welcomed. This joyful event was complemented by a MATSE rally through\u00a0 through the IT Center and a final <a href=\"https:\/\/www.m-dual.de\/\">math dual<\/a> barbecue.<\/p>\n<p>At this point we want to congratulate three member of the RWTH Aachen, who won the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/03\/07\/spec-contributor-award\/\">SPEC Contributor Award<\/a>.<br \/>\nFurthermore, the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/03\/16\/social-media-it-center-2\/\">social media channels<\/a> of the IT Center celebrated their third anniversary and the project <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/01\/05\/idm-nrw-umsetzungsprojekt1\/\">IDM.nrw<\/a> reached a new milestone.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00549f;\">Changes and Adjustments<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In 2022 there have also been new developments in the IT Center, especially in the fields of <strong>design and process optimization<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/04\/04\/blog-relaunch\/\">IT Center Blog<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/09\/26\/nhr4ces-im-neuen-design\/\">website of NHR4CES<\/a> and most recently the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/12\/09\/das-it-center-praesentiert-sich-in-einem-neuen-weblayout\/\">website of the IT Center<\/a> have been fitted out with new designs.<\/li>\n<li>Additionally to the new designs, the process of the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/04\/11\/rwthmoole_tn_verwaltung\/\">participant management<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/moodle.rwth-aachen.de\/?lang=en\">RWTHmoodle<\/a> has been adjusted.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/05\/02\/chat-relaunch\/\">chat function<\/a> for the support service has been connected to the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2021\/01\/25\/omnichannel\/\">omnichannel system<\/a>. There is also an updated design as well as new features.<\/li>\n<li>New functions can also be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/04\/04\/blog-relaunch\/\">IT Center Blog<\/a>, on the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/09\/26\/nhr4ces-im-neuen-design\/\">website of NHR4CES<\/a> and further in the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/02\/14\/neues-features-it-center-help\/\">FAQ section on IT Center Help<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/02\/04\/fdm-blog-wir-sind-ab-sofort-bilingual\/\">RDM Blog<\/a> is now also available in English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But not only designs and functions were adjusted.<br \/>\nThere were also some <strong>introductions<\/strong>, <strong>conversions<\/strong> and even some <strong>goodbye\u2019s<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There was a <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/01\/10\/cyber-security-awareness-training\/\">Cyber-Security-Awareness<\/a> training with a phishing-simulation for several months.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/01\/31\/pilotprojekt-overleaf\/\">pilot project Overleaf<\/a> started in cooperation with TU Darmstadt, to support collaborative editing of LaTeX documents and has been successfully <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/07\/11\/overleaf-verlaengerung\/\">extended until February 2023<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/03\/25\/makros-3\/\">Macros-E-mail-Filtering<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/04\/20\/e-mail-lifecycle\/\">new E-Mail Lifecycle<\/a> started.<\/li>\n<li>The implementation of <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/08\/24\/rwthcontacts\/\">RWTHcontacts<\/a> to modernize the organization and personal data management happened.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/10\/26\/einfuehrung-adobe-sevire\/\">Adobe SeviRe<\/a> has been implemented to ease processing.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/08\/19\/hurra-das-neue-backup-system-ist-da\/\">backup-changeover<\/a> to Commvault\u2019s backup software took place.<\/li>\n<li>Accounts of the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/07\/15\/umstellung-ub-account\/\">university\u2019s library<\/a> were updated as well as the HPC accounts were updated to the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/11\/02\/regapp1\/\">RegApp<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Websites which are hosted by the IT Center were automatically updated to \u201chttps\u201d and equipped with the appropriate <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/12\/28\/ssl-zertifikate\/\">SSL certificates<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>A big <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/07\/06\/microsoft-aufraeumaktion\/\">clean-up campaign of Microsoft Accounts<\/a> happened on the RWTH tenant.<\/li>\n<li>We say goodbye to our <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/08\/31\/abschaltung-der-feedback-funktion\/\">feedback function<\/a> for the ticket system after receiving mainly positive feedback.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Moreover, new<strong> blog series\u2019<\/strong> were launched \u00a0throughout the year.<br \/>\nUseful IT hacks such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/04\/01\/itbites\/\">ITbites<\/a>, the series \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/05\/04\/videokonferenzen-effizient-gestalten-1-4\/\">making video conferences more efficient<\/a>\u201d and the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/08\/01\/mailinglisten\/\">#GoodToKnow series<\/a> are covered. Additionally the IT Center was introduced as an institution of the RWTH Aachen in the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/2022\/12\/14\/das-it-center-bilderraetsel-rueckblick-und-vorschau\/\">IT Center Picture Puzzle series<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see, many exciting things happened last year.
