Both sites have joined forces as one of the nine NHR centers with the goal of combining HPC applications, algorithms and methods, and the efficient use of HPC hardware. NHR4CES specializes in engineering and materials science, as well as engineering-oriented physics, chemistry and medicine.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00549f;\"><strong>The Infrastructure<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The infrastructure created offers researchers the possibility to compute their projects on the high-performance computers CLAIX-2018 at the IT Center of RWTH Aachen University and Lichtenberg II at TU Darmstadt.True to the slogan &#8220;High-Speed 4 Science&#8221;, NHR4CES offers the appropriate infrastructure to carry out research and computing projects faster and more efficiently.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00549f;\"><strong>Competence in One Center<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Here, the package of scientific services specializing in specific engineering applications and in overarching topics relevant to HPC users: data management, visualization, AI or performance optimization, prove their worth. Experts from NHR4CES&#8217; Simulation and Data Labs and Cross-Sectional Groups support each user with access to HPC infrastructure, various training opportunities, scientific support, and collaborations. This is not only for scientists with HPC expertise, but also for those who want to discover HPC for themselves and their research.<\/p>\n<p>Especially important for researchers: The computing time in NHR4CES and the associated support services are freely accessible for scientists from German universities. Also for researchers who are not working at RWTH Aachen or TU Darmstadt.
