If you missed the previous blog posts, please take a look at the publications of the last few days. But before we can leave you fully informed, we would like to let some former trainees speak in this and the following last blog post.<\/p>\n<p>Merve and Tom\u00e1s have both successfully completed their DiMa training with us at the IT Center. In this post, they talk about their experiences during the training and the time afterwards. They explain why they decided to continue their careers at the IT Center.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00549f;\">One Place, Many Possibilities<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>My name is Merve, I&#8217;m 24 years old and I started my vocational training as a management assistant for dialogue marketing at the IT Center of RWTH Aachen University in 2017. I shortened my training from three to two and a half years and thus completed it in January 2020. While I was able to acquire a great deal of knowledge in the areas of &#8220;project management,&#8221; &#8220;business and social affairs,&#8221; and &#8220;communication processes&#8221; at the vocational school in Cologne, I dealt intensively with IT services at the company. I was also able to provide support in various departments, including &#8220;Networks&#8221;, &#8220;Financial Management and Human Resources&#8221;, &#8220;Event Organization&#8221; and &#8220;MATSE&#8221;. From the third year of my training, I then moved within the department <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rwth-aachen.de\/itc\/en\/2022\/08\/03\/it-center-bilderraetsel-service-kommunikation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Service &amp; Communications<\/em><\/a> from the group <em>IT-ServiceDesk (IT-SD)<\/em> to <em>Knowledge Management and Processes (WiPro)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00549f;\">Main Tasks as a Permanent Employee<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>After successfully completing my training, I was hired as a permanent employee. In addition to working in first-level support, which includes first-level support coordination, I have continued to take on tasks in the <em>Knowledge Management and Processes<\/em> group.<\/p>\n<p>My day-to-day tasks include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organization and optimization of departmental meetings<\/li>\n<li>Creation and evaluation of surveys<\/li>\n<li>Organization and execution of onboarding processes for new employees, trainees, and student assistants<\/li>\n<li>Organizing and holding training sessions<\/li>\n<li>Editing and reviewing support agreements between first and second level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I also take care of so-called ticket meetings. In the form of presentations, these describe the correct processing of specific tickets.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00549f;\">Team Spirit &amp; a Thank You<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>I very much appreciate the pleasant atmosphere, the nice togetherness as well as company celebrations in summer, fall and around Christmas. I would like to thank everyone involved for the support, the solidarity, and the great time so far.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00549f;\">Interest, Fascination, and Passion<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>My name is Tom\u00e1s, I&#8217;m 27 years old and I completed my training as a management assistant for dialogue marketing in June 2021. As part of my training, I attended vocational school in Cologne and discovered new interests in addition to my passion for IT. During my training, I was particularly fascinated by the topics of project management and marketing. Since it was not possible for me to be taken on at the end of my training, I started looking for a new job early on.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00549f;\">All Good Things Come in Twos<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Two months after graduating, the time had come for me to take up a position in the private sector. In addition to my knowledge and skills, the training I received at the IT Center of RWTH Aachen University, a renowned university of excellence, made my new employer curious. In my new employment, I was able to and had to learn a lot of new things that proved to be as normal as they were exciting for me.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, after exactly one year at the aforementioned company, increasingly aggravating circumstances arose, so that it became clear to me that I did not want to stay there any longer. During my job search, I came across an advertisement for the IT Center, among other things. Since I already liked and appreciated the colleagues there and the activities during my training, I applied for the position quite promptly. So I started again as an employee at the IT Center in August 2022 &#8211; exactly one year to the day after starting my new job in the private sector. It was a great pleasure for me and my colleagues to see familiar faces again. I also remembered most of the tasks and important information. This has made the onboarding process much easier.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00549f;\">Yesterday a Trainee, Today an Employee<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>So now I&#8217;m back in first-level support as the first point of contact for concerns of members of the university. Those are primarily employees and students of RWTH Aachen University. In addition, I also support my colleagues at the IT Center within the framework of IT administration in the procurement and provision of hardware.
