In the old Alcatel Lucent telephone system, call numbers were tied to telephones. In the new Cisco telephone system, on the other hand, telephone numbers are assigned to persons. This provides users with additional options for organizing their communications independently and flexibly.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Employees can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/tk-portal.itc.rwth-aachen.de\/phone-service-request\/\">digital\u00a0TK-Application<\/a>\u00a0to request new installations, relocations or changes for the telephone system of the respective institution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits for employees:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mobile accessibility under the business phone number even outside the RWTH<\/li>\n<li>Individual definition of call forwarding<\/li>\n<li>Self-administration by users<\/li>\n<li>Activation and deactivation of individual features<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This range of functions is mapped by Cisco Jabber as a softphone and by the <a href=\"https:\/\/tk-portal.itc.rwth-aachen.de\/en\/\">TK-Portal<\/a> for configuration.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00549f;\">The TK-Portal in a new design<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>As you may have already seen, the TK-Portal has received a redesign.
