You want to watch a digital lecture, but the video takes forever to load because your internet connection is not sufficient? Or do you as a lecturer want to offer your students the possibility to watch a video independently from RWTHmoodle?<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>From the results of our user surveys over the past few years, it is clear that many students have wanted such an option for some time, so that they could also access the instructional videos regardless of their location. For example, watching the videos could be done easily on the way to important appointments, or when the internet connection is poor. The learning process is thus facilitated for the students and the lecturers now have the opportunity to help implement this. The RWTH streaming server (Opencast) now offers a solution to this problem.<\/p>\n<p>Managers have recently been able to make the videos provided in a course room via the RWTH streaming server optionally available for download by students. This allows them to save the videos on their digital devices and watch them offline at any time.<\/p>\n<h2>How is the download option set up?<\/h2>\n<p>Setting up the download option for students is done in two steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>copying the download link to the RWTH streaming server after the video upload.<\/li>\n<li>include the download link together with the video embedding.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the link is available, students can right-click on the link and save the file or download the video.<\/p>\n<p>How you as a lecturer have to proceed exactly, we explain you in a <a href=\"https:\/\/help.itc.rwth-aachen.de\/en\/service\/8d9eb2f36eea4fcaa9abd0e1ca008b22\/article\/3fc129f39eb54621a2f3d057cfe1a4a4\/\">step by step guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You need more information?
