Since then, the current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itc.rwth-aachen.de\/cms\/~rbnjb\/it-center\/lidx\/1\/\">IT Center<\/a> (formerly the Computing and Communication Center) has been responsible not only for the data network and the services based on it, but also for the telecommunication infrastructure of the RWTH Aachen University, from the network and its connections to the terminal equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Until now, so-called telecommunication applications (TK-applications for short) had to submit analog the application of connections and\/or telephones or their relocation. These TK-applications had to be submit by filling out a form, signing it, stamping it, and sending it to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itc.rwth-aachen.de\/cms\/it-center\/Services\/Support-Moeglichkeiten\/IT-ServiceDesk\/~sqqto\/Kontakt-Oeffnungszeiten\/\">IT-ServiceDesk<\/a> by internal mail, fax, or scanned by e-mail. Employees then transferred the given data to our system.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itc.rwth-aachen.de\/cms\/IT-Center\/Forschung-Projekte\/~rxwc\/Netzerneuerung\/\">network renewal<\/a> at RWTH Aachen University, among other things analog telephone connections converted to IP connections. These telephone connections are coupled to the broadband. This change also involves a change of the telephones to pure VoIP (Voice over IP) devices.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This extensively renewal of technology requires a large number of applications. To optimize and accelerate the procurement and ordering process, the first version of the digital TK-application has now been completed. In future, when a TK-application is submitted, customers will be able to enter all the relevant processing data themselves in a web application. If costs incurred for the telephone application, a PDF document is automatically generated. To complete the application, this document must be signed by the customer, scanned and uploaded to the web application. The IT-ServiceDesk receives afterwards automatically information about the TK-application. Because of the new process, this can be processed even more efficiently and quickly.<\/p>\n<p>The new version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/tk-portal.itc.rwth-aachen.de\/phone-service-request\/\">digital TK-application<\/a> will go live on 4th May 2021.
