After raising $3 million in seed funding, Doctor On Demand is officially launching today, a service that aims to connect consumers to a licensed U.S. physician via app an on iPhone, Android or tablet — from anywhere. Now the service is available in 15 U.S. states for a price of $40 per video call — a price the co-founders believe puts Doctor on Demand on par with most insurance co-pays and cheaper than most urgent care. 用户使用Doctor on Demand可以对自己的病症找大夫进行付费咨询，是ondemand形式，通过视频或网络电话直接联系到大夫，在沟通前用户也可先描述病症并上传相关医 学影像。每通咨询是40美元。Doctor on Demand说他们平台有1千名认证美国医师。国内的春雨医生早在去年4月已经有了付费电话咨询服务。
未来很可能我们的医疗方式都会改变。日常可穿戴设备持续记录我们的身体数据(如心率)，可用作医生诊疗时的参考。诸如验尿之类的医学检测也会变得平民化，很可能这些常规检测在家里就能完成了。类23andMe等基因检测会让人们自出生起就能注意某类高风险疾病。
