Since the bribery news of GlaxoSmithKline was exposed in 2013, it caused widespread public concern that overseas-funded\u00a0pharmaceutical enterprise made extremely expensive drugs sold in hospitals with the convenience of \u201cTwo specifications for one variety\u201d. At the two sessions this year, there were even NPC members who suggested to revoke the rule of \u201cTwo specifications for one variety\u201d. Recently, National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) replied about this suggestion: since there are many generic drugs on the market, whose qualities are hard to be evaluated, it is necessary to set the rule of \u201cTwo specifications for one variety\u201d to avoid medical institutions, which are driven by profits, to choose expensive drugs.
