Endlich ist es soweit: Nach insgesamt drei Test- und Pilotphasen geht RWTHmoodle heute in den Regelbetrieb über. Für die Lehrstühle und Institute bedeutet dies konkret, dass es ab heute möglich ist, für alle Lehrveranstaltungen aus RWTHonline auch einen zusätzlichen digitalen Lernraum in RWTHmoodle zu erhalten.

Sie möchten Ihre Lehrveranstaltungen auch mit digitalen Lernmethoden erweitern? Dann haben wir hier die drei wichtigsten Fragen und Antworten für Ihren Einstieg mit RWTHmoodle nochmals zusammengefasst.
Wie erhalte ich einen Lernraum für meine Lehrveranstaltung?
Grundsätzlich kann jede Lehrveranstaltung, die in RWTHonline eingetragen ist, auch einen Lernraum in RWTHmoodle erhalten. Wenden Sie sich hierfür an die Personen mit den Funktionen „LV-Koordination“ oder „Semesterkoordination“ an Ihrem Lehrstuhl oder an Ihrem Institut. Die Mitarbeitenden mit diesen Funktionen können in der LV-Bearbeitung einer Lehrveranstaltung die Option „Lernraum in RWTHmoodle“ auswählen.
Sobald die Option ausgewählt wurde, wird bis zum folgenden Tag automatisch ein Lernraum zur Lehrveranstaltung erstellt. Die Vortragenden aus RWTHonline werden in diesem Lernraum direkt als sogenannte „Manager/innen“ gebucht. Sobald der Lernraum erstellt ist, können Sie mit der individuellen Gestaltung loslegen sowie weitere Personen in den Lernraum einladen.

Wo erhalte ich Hilfe bei der Einrichtung meines Lernraums?
Um den digitalen Lernraum einsetzen zu können, stehen den Lehrenden zahlreiche Funktionen und Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten zur Verfügung – da ist es nicht immer einfach sich zu entscheiden, wie der eigene Lernraum am besten gestaltet werden soll. Zu den gängigsten Anwendungsfragen finden Sie Antworten auf IT Center Help.
Die Dokumentation befindet sich momentan noch im Aufbau und wird in den kommenden Wochen von uns stetig weiterentwickelt. Neben diesen Anleitungen können Sie sich auch immer an das IT-ServiceDesk wenden – wir helfen Ihnen gerne weiter bei Ihren Fragen.
Für Mitarbeitende der RWTH, die für ihren Einstieg in RWTHmoodle eine Einführung wünschen, bietet das Center für Lehr- und Lernservices (CLS), Abteilung Lernplattform-Management (LPM), zudem mehrere Termine für eine zweistündige Basisschulung RWTHmoodle an.
Und wann sind die Studierenden dran?
Studierende müssen sich noch ein wenig gedulden: Sie werden von RWTHonline automatisch in die Lernräume gebucht, sobald sie einen Fixplatz für die zugehörige Lehrveranstaltung zugewiesen bekommen haben. Natürlich können Lehrende auch immer weitere Studierende unabhängig von RWTHonline in die Lernräume hinzubuchen. Die Studierenden werden nochmals gesondert über die Umstellung auf RWTHmoodle informiert.

Finally, it’s time: After three test- and pilot phases in total, RWTHmoodle goes into regular operation today. For the chairs and institutes, this concretely means that – starting with today – it will be possible to obtain an optional digital course room in RWTHmoodle in addition to all lectures from RWTHonline.

You wish to extend your lectures by digital learning methods, as well? For this purpose, we have summed up the three most important questions and answers for your start with RWTHmoodle below:
How do I obtain a course room for my lecture?
In principle, every lecture, which is registered in RWTHonline, has the possibility to obtain a course room in RWTHmoodle, as well. To do so, we kindly ask you to contact the person with the role “Course Coordinator” or “Semester Coordinator” of your chair or institute.
Employees with these functions can select the option “Course in RWTHmoodle” in the “Edit course”-section of a lecture. Once this option is selected, a course room for your lecture will be created automatically in RWTHmoodle. The lecturers from RWTHonline will directly be booked as managers in this course room. As soon as the course room has been created, you can start with the individual design as well as with booking further persons to the course room.

Where do I get help for the setup of my course room?
In order to use their own course room, many functions and design options are available for lecturers – as it is not always easy to decide how to design the course room in the best possible way.
Application questions will be answered on IT Center Help. The documentation is still under construction and will be further developed by us in the upcoming weeks. Besides these digital instructions, lecturers are also always welcome to contact the IT-ServiceDesk – we are pleased to help you with your questions.
For employees of RWTH University, who are interested in an introduction to RWTHmoodle, the Center for Learning and Teaching Services (CLS), Department of Learning Platform Management (LPM), offers various appointments for a two-hour basic training for RWTHmoodle.
When is it the student’s turn?
We kindly ask students to be patient for a bit longer: RWTHonline will automatically book them into the course rooms as soon as they are allocated to a so-called confirmed place for the respective course room. Of course, lecturers can always add further students to the course rooms, independent of RWTHonline. The students will be informed separately about the transition to RWTHmoodle.
