IT Center Changes

To make the use of RWTHmoodle even more transparent in the future, IT Center and CLS will introduce Terms of Use for RWTHmoodle for the first time during the maintenance scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2026.

For users, nothing will change regarding the current use of RWTHmoodle. The Terms of Use will, for the first time, summarize in writing and transparently present the existing framework conditions for using the platform.

Following the maintenance, the Terms of Use will be displayed to all users after they successfully log in. Users must confirm the Terms of Use once in order to continue using the service.

RWTHmoodle has been updated to version 4.5.10.

RWTHmoodle has been updated to version 4.5.8. Improvements have been made in the following areas, including:

• Performance
• Security vulnerabilities
• Accessibility

In line with the life cylce of course rooms with connection to RWTHonline, the winter semester 2022/23 course rooms were deleted on November 4, 2025.

RWTHmoodle has been updated to version 4.5. This update includes the following new functions and improvements:

Functions

Text editor:

• In the TinyMCE text editor, you can now insert images using drag-and-drop.

“Quiz activity:

• managers: in the “Quiz activity”, grades can be assigned to sections and group of questions on the page “Questions”
• after completing a test students can see how they have performed in the respective areas
• managers: On the “Results” page of the “Quiz” activity, you can now use the “Regrade attempts…” button to regrade selected questions

Activities “Assignments” and “Quiz”:

• students now receive a notification as soon as the due date for an assignment approaches or is exceeded
• the system also informs students when a test will be available in the near future

Improvements

Course page:

• only the sections are bordered by a frame line, activities are separated from each other by thin horizontal lines
• clicking on a section now opens it in a separate page where you can only see the selected section
• managers can also open a section in edit mode by clicking on the “View” option in the three-dot menu on a separate page and edit it there
• the activity icons are now smaller and the colored background has been removed
• managers: the course format “Topics format” can now be found under the name “Custom sections”

Question bank (managers):

• categories in the question bank can now be moved more easily: either by drag-and-drop or via the option of the same name in the three-dot-menu

“Assignment” activity (managers):

• the user interface of the “Assignment” acitivity has been revised and aligned with that of the grader report and the course page
• on the “Submissions” page, all functions are now grouped together at the top of the page
