Valuable Insights and Outlooks: Meeting of the RDM Network and CoRDI 2025
The last Meeting of the RDM Network took place on September 4, 2025. The RDM team from RWTH Aachen University, data stewards, and meeting participants shared valuable insights and exciting impressions from the Conference on Research Data Infrastructure (CoRDI). Additionally, we would like to inform you about another RDM network meeting. The “Data Stewards Practice Special” is scheduled for September 25, 2025. All RDM members are cordially invited to participate in this exchange and report on their experiences and projects.
Coscine at CoRDI 2025
Coscine was also represented with a poster at this year’s Conference on Research Data Infrastructure (CoRDI). The poster showcased Coscine’s participation in the European FAIR-IMPACT Support program, which assists research data infrastructures in implementing the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). RDM in Action – Review of CoRDI 2025 in Aachen
From August 26 to 28, 2025, the second Conference on Research Data Infrastructure (CoRDI) 2025 took place at RWTH Aachen University. The conference was organized by the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) in cooperation with the Chair of Intelligence in Quality Sensing WZL at RWTH and proved to be an extremely important event for many stakeholders in research data management (RDM) to come together. Under the motto “RDM in Action,” the focus was on the practical use of research data. In this blog post, we summarize the highlights of the RWTH’s RDM team and provide an insight into the event.
DALIA Satellite Meeting @CoRDI2025 – Focus On Data Literacy
On 25 August 2025, a satellite networking event organised by the DALIA project will take place in Aachen as part of CoRDI 2025. The event will address key issues relating to data literacy in research and teaching, focusing on data standards, training platforms, community building and FAIR-oriented training formats.
The meeting will take place on site in seminar room 202 of building 2020 at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University. Participation is free of charge and includes a lunch buffet, dinner, coffee breaks and networking opportunities.
The event will start at 10 a.m. with a welcome coffee. The programme will end at around 8 p.m.
Registration is required by 11 August 2025. The password ‘DALIA25’ is required to access the registration form. Further information on the event can be found on the DALIA project website.
Second Base4NFDI User Conference
Following CoRDI 2025, Base4NFDI invites you to the second Base4NFDI User Conference (UC4B2025) in Aachen from 28 to 29 August 2025.
The aim of the event is to strengthen the exchange between base services, consortia and international experts on the development of joint NFDI infrastructures.
The conference will address issues relating to the technical and organisational implementation of base services in the NFDI and provide a forum for discussions on sustainable research data management, international cooperation and the practical implementation of services in the consortia.
The programme is divided into three parts:
- a Base4NFDI slot at CoRDI at RWTH C.A.R.L. (Claßenstraße 11, 52072 Aachen)
- a panel discussion with evening reception at Forum M (Buchkremerstraße 1-7, 52062 Aachen) and
- a focus day on basic services at the Werkzeugmaschinenlabor (WZL) (Steinbachstraße 19, 52074 Aachen).
The venues are accessible for people with disabilities. Participants who require assistance can contact the organisers directly.

From August 26 to 28, 2025, the second Conference on Research Data Infrastructure (CoRDI) will take place at RWTH Aachen University. The conference brings together experts from science, infrastructure, and the community to discuss key issues and the future of research data management (RDM). The conference is organized by the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) in cooperation with RWTH.
In the C.A.R.L. lecture hall center, participants can expect a varied program with eight thematic focal points that highlight both disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives. In addition to specialist presentations and discussions, a “market of opportunities” will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas about projects, tools, and initiatives.
