FGE-Rogowski Evening: Electricity War Reloaded – is alternating current still up to date?

The Forschungsgesellschaft Energie (FGE e.V.) is organising the Rogowski Evening, a panel discussion with experts from research and industry, on 04.02.2021.

Target group: students, scientific staff, interested members of the public.

The topic is: “Electricity war reloaded – is alternating current still up to date?”

 

The panel will include:

  • Prof. ir. Rik W. De Doncker (E.ON ERC, RWTH Aachen University),
  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jochen Kreusel (ABB Power Grids Germany AG),
  • Peter Barth (Amprion GmbH),
  • Dr. Joachim Kabs (Schleswig-Holstein Netz AG):

 

The following aspects will be addressed:

  • What are the advantages of direct current technology?
  • Is direct current also conceivable in the distribution grid?
  • Can the existing AC infrastructure be used?
  • How market-ready is the technology?
