The annual RWTHtransparent took place at the start of the year – an event at which RWTH Aachen University provides insights into its developments, celebrates the successes of the past year and presents an outlook on future projects. This year, the event was organised as an entertaining stage show that put research, teaching and university administration centre stage in an innovative way. Following the stage programme, participants were able to explore the exhibitions of current projects at RWTH and experience the diversity of the university.

The FDM Team Up Close and Personal

The RDM team was also represented at the RWTHtransparent with a stand and presented central services relating to research data management. Special attention was paid to the Coscine platform, which supports researchers in efficiently managing their research data and making it available for sustainable use. The stand offered the opportunity to talk directly with interested parties, answer questions and offer personalised advice on the various RDM solutions.

The personal exchange was enriching for both sides. While the visitors gained valuable insights into the possibilities of structured research data management, the RDM team was able to take away new ideas for the further development of the services from the discussions. The great interest in Coscine and the openness to organising research data in line with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) was particularly pleasing.

We would like to thank all visitors for the interesting discussions and positive feedback! RWTHtransparent 2025 has once again shown how important direct dialogue is for the further development of research, services and scientific infrastructure. We look forward to the upcoming events and further dialogue with the community!
