The first two days of the FDM workshop have already been reported on the RDM blog. On the third day of the FDM workshop, everything revolved around the FDM tools LiaScript, Datalad and Coscine. You are about to start your doctoral thesis, the topic has been decided and you know when everything will start. Your department has special data formats, you have to complete a data management plan (DMP), RWTH Aachen University offers services such as Coscine and the German Research Foundation (DFG) also has guidelines on what it considers to be good RDM. Follow-up Report on Research Data Day 2023 – Afternoon Program

Did you miss the Research Data Day 2023 in Aachen? Too bad! Around 80 RDM activists and RDM enthusiasts from Aachen and Forschungszentrum Jülich met on November 14, 2023 for a successful lecture and networking event. After we have already informed you about the morning program of the state-wide action day in NRW, we now report on the joint afternoon event of RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZ Jülich) “From Data to Diamonds – Empowering Research with AI and RDM”.

Follow-up Report – RDM Workshop in Essen

From June 14-16, 2023, the Coscine team participated in the RDM workshop hosted by Landesinitiative fdm.nrw in Essen. The RDM workshop offered the opportunity to try out different tools, including Coscine. In different sessions, special functions of the individual tools were presented, which could be tried out by the participants during or afterwards. In addition, the workshop was an optimal opportunity to exchange information about the respective tools and to network. (*)

On May 31, 2023, Coscine was presented as part of the Coffee Lecture series of the Thuringian Competence Network for Research Data Management. This time, everything revolved around the topic of “FAIR research data management (RDM) from the very beginning”. Coscine offers an innovative solution for storing, managing and archiving research and metadata. Follow-up Report on the RDM Network Meeting in May

This time, the participants were guided through the most important steps in the FAIRification process using the FAIR Cookbook.

The international Data Science Journal is seeking contributions for a special volume on “Data Management Planning across Disciplines and Infrastructures“.
