DFG Recommends Funding for 3 NFDI Consortia With RWTH Participation

New year, new luck! In the third round of calls for proposals, the DFG’s expert panel has recommended funding for several NFDI consortia. RWTH Aachen University is also high on the list this year. Find out which NFDI consortia have received a recommendation in this blog post.

It’s time again for our series ” RDM Explained”, in which we provide you with important terms and information for practical research data management.
In the present day, digital information is an integral part of our everyday lives. Whether messages in social networks, digital photos, documents, or videos – we want to access all this data for as long as possible. But permanent access to digital data is not only an important issue in the private sphere, but also in the research context. The long-term usability of research data is a prerequisite for scientific progress. This article therefore offers a brief introduction to digital preservation.
One Year FAIR Data Spaces – What Has Happened so Far?

In May, the “FAIR Data Spaces” project celebrated its first anniversary. The project application was submitted to the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) at the beginning of April last year. The funding already started on May 17, 2021. Since then, the FAIR Data Spaces community has been built up and the first milestones have been reached together. In this blog post, we take a look at what has happened in the last year.

On May 11, 2022, it was once again time for the monthly open meeting of the RDM network. Around 70 data stewards, RDM managers and those interested in RDM at RWTH Aachen University came together online via Zoom. This time, the main topic was research funding with a focus on the innovations and requirements of the DFG for RDM.
