BUILD ON DATA Conference Proceedings Published

Last year, we reported on the community conference “Auf Daten bauen // Build on Data” organized by the DFG project baureka.online. The two-day conference, which took place on May 4 and 5, 2023 in Berlin, was aimed at people who deal with historical building fabric, collect digital data on built objects and are interested in effective research data management in historical building research and monument preservation. An open access publication has now been published for the conference in May 2023, which we would like to report on in this article.

Build on Data – Community Conference in May

On May 4 and 5, 2023, the community conference Build on Data – Auf Daten bauen of the DFG project baureka.online on the topic of research data in historical building research and monument preservation will take place in hybrid form. Participants have the opportunity to attend the conference at the Technische Universität in Berlin or to attend it online.

The community conference on “Research Data in Historical Building Research and Historic Preservation” will take place hybrid on May 4 and 5, 2023. Participants have the opportunity to attend the conference at the Technical University in Berlin or to attend online.

Since November 2021, the Chair of Architectural History at RWTH Aachen University, together with TU Berlin and FIZ Karlsruhe, has been developing a research data portal for building archaeology under the title baureka.online. But what exactly is baureka.online? What are the goals of this project and for which community is it intended? We would like to answer these and many other questions in this blog post.
