NFDI-MatWerk Spring School in 2025
From April 8 to 10, 2025, the NFDI-MatWerk Spring School will take place at the IT Center in Kopernikusstraße at RWTH Aachen University. Organized by the NFDI-MatWerk consortium in cooperation with renowned partners such as Forschungszentrum Jülich and various RWTH institutes, the event is aimed at doctoral students, postdocs and advanced master’s students in the fields of materials science and engineering.
Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge of digitization solutions and research data management, learn how to effectively organize, store and share data, and exchange ideas with experts.
Registration is open until March 15, 2025, although the number of participants is limited. The “first come, first served” principle applies. Registration for the event is possible via the website of the European School of Materials (EUSMAT). Further information can be found on the RDM blog.
Review of Research Data Day 2024
“Into the data garden: Let your research bloom!” was the motto of last week’s nationwide Research Data Day (RDD) in North Rhine-Westphalia. This year’s RDD took place on November 12, 2024 and offered researchers and those interested in RDM an attractive range of information on the topic of Research Data Management (RDM). The aim of the event is to present current developments and services in the field of RDM, to increase the visibility of the topic and to strengthen networking within the community.
This Was the Data Stewardship Goes Germany Workshop 2024
This year’s TU9 workshop for data stewards took place from September 11 to 12, 2024 at RWTH Aachen University. The two-day workshop provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on research data management in science and technology, with a particular focus on the role of data stewards. In this article we look back on two successful and instructive days.
RDM platform Coscine – more than free quota!
Contemporary research involves conscious research data management (RDM) with the aim of generating high-quality research data and keeping it sustainably (re)usable, i.e. findable, accessible and understandable (FAIR-criteria). The RDM platform Coscine – Collaborative Scientific Integration Environment—supports you in this and helps you meet the requirements of research funders and comply with Good Research Practice.
This event is part of a series of in-depth modules on RDM (FDM II – modular). The basics on RDM are covered by the Moodle course “Research Data Management – an Overview (RDM I – online)”. Please use this course as introduction to RDM.
Learn about the RDM platform Coscine with all its features. Understand how Coscine supports you in making research data FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) and in meeting the expectations of research funders.
