Reflections on the Open Science Festival 2024 in Mainz
Three data stewards from the technical training and consulting group N. Parks, K. Dukkart and C. Gonzalez of the Research Process and Data Management (RPDM) Department recently had the opportunity to attend the third annual Open Science Festival held at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, an event dedicated to exploring the principles and practices of Open Science.
As in the previous year, the festival brought together a diverse group of participants—from students and researchers to decision-makers and Research Data Management (RDM) professionals under the inspiring motto: “Meet, Share, Inspire, Care”.
Follow-up Report on the Open Meeting of the RDM Network on October 12, 2022
On October 12, 2022, the data stewards, RDM officers and RDM interested parties at RWTH Aachen University met again for the regular Open Meeting of the RDM Network online via Zoom. The theme of the event this time was FAIR in Science.
One Year FAIR Data Spaces – What Has Happened so Far?
In May, the “FAIR Data Spaces” project celebrated its first anniversary. The project application was submitted to the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) at the beginning of April last year. The funding already started on May 17, 2021. Since then, the FAIR Data Spaces community has been built up and the first milestones have been reached together. In this blog post, we take a look at what has happened in the last year.
RfII veröffentlicht Empfehlungen zur Nutzung und Verwertung von Daten im wissenschaftlichen Raum
Angesichts der vielfältigen Diskussionen über die Nutzung, Verwertung und Vermarktung von digitalen Daten hat der vom Bund und von den Ländern eingerichtete Rat für Informationsstrukturen (RfII) unterschiedliche Datendienste an den Schnittstellen von Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft, Zivilgesellschaft und Verwaltung untersucht. Seine Empfehlungen zur Ausgestaltung von Datendiensten an der Schnittstelle zwischen Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft hat der RfII in einem Positionspapier veröffentlicht.
