Hey!
Or “Moin!” as our colleague Merrit from the north would say – we are the editorial team of the IT Center and would like to introduce ourselves to you with this article. Every day we work to provide you with information about our services, IT security updates and news from the IT Center cosmos.
IT is All About the People
As the editorial team of the Marketing & Event Management group (Marie for short), we are part of the IT Center’s Service & Communication department (SeKo for short). Our diverse team consists of a mixture of student assistants and permanent employees. Thanks to our different courses of study, training and professional experience, we bring a diverse range of tools and skills to the table. Our wealth of experience ranges from philosophy and design to communication sciences and digital media.
Everyone in the team has found their place and so we work like a well-oiled cogwheel. For us, a team is only really successful if everyone feels comfortable.

Focus on Communication
As a central institution of RWTH Aachen University, the IT Center supports the university’s IT processes, provides basic IT services and provides individual IT services for RWTH institutions and beyond. As part of our external communication, we maintain this blog to provide you with important information. In cooperation with the IT Center’s specialist departments, the editorial team writes interesting and useful articles about current developments several times a week. This includes tips and suggestions on how to use the IT Center’s services. With insights into our day-to-day work and blog series on exciting topics, we want to give the IT Center a face. Of course, we also include feel-good articles to liven things up. Our blog and social media channels with our service ticker are an important communication tool, especially in times of crisis.
We use our social media channels Facebook, LinkedIn, X and YouTube to draw attention to the important topics we cover on our blog. We also engage in community management, stay in touch with you and try to make your life easier with little IT-related tricks.
Between Tweets and #moodletrouble
In addition to our role in the editorial team, we are also part of the IT Service Desk, which is there to help and advise you. As the central point of contact for students, employees, institutes and cooperation partners of RWTH Aachen University, we are available to answer all questions relating to our IT services.
We answer your questions by e-mail, telephone, chat and on site.
