The RWTHapp satisfaction survey ran from July 22 to August 2, 2024. Before we get into the evaluation, we would like to thank you for the active participation! With almost 4000 clicks, there were over 2000 fully completed questionnaires. The results of the survey will be incorporated into the further development of the RWTHapp.

Results

93 percent of all survey participants stated that they use the RWTHapp. 99 percent of these users use the app on their smartphone. Of these, 23 percent also use a tablet to access the RWTHapp.

The RWTHapp is mainly used on the major operating systems Android and iOS, but also occasionally on alternative operating systems such as GrapheneOS. By the way: Did you know that the RWTHapp is also available for F-Droid?

The usability of the RWTHapp was rated as average to good, with structure and operation scoring slightly better than the findability of information. The average school grade (i.e. from 1 for “very good” to 6 for “unsatisfactory”) was 2.3. Half of the participants gave the RWTHapp a grade of 2, followed by grades of 3 (22 percent) and 1 (15 percent). Grades of 4 (7 percent), 5 (3 percent) and 6 (1 percent) were awarded less frequently.

The most frequent criticism was the performance of the RWTHapp in terms of loading times and error messages. The most frequently mentioned feature requests were a more extensive integration of RWTHmoodle and the option to hide the grades on the home page of the tablet app.

What Happens Next

After the feedback from the survey has been evaluated, it is incorporated into the further development of the RWTHapp. Suggestions for improvement and feature requests will be implemented gradually. Feasibility plays a major role in this process: because the data and functionalities of the RWTHapp come from many different source systems, we often reach our limits in development. However, we will do our best to implement your feedback as far as possible and to continuously improve the RWTHapp.

Your opinion matters: the next survey is already planned for 2025 to regularly collect user feedback. Of course, our IT Service Desk is always available to help with any problems or questions you may have.
