The IT Center was once again represented at this year’s Aachen Company Run. The 13th Aachen Company Run did not take place at the end of September as usual, but instead on Friday, July 3, 2026. Due to construction work at the event site, the run was moved to early summer.
This also worked out well with the weather: With summery temperatures around 24 degrees, it got very warm in some spots along the course. This made the additional drink stations and shower facilities along the route all the more welcome, as they provided a little relief from the heat.
Seven colleagues from the IT Center took part this year. Patrik Stärk and Ben Thärigen ran the 3.3 km distance. Leo Braun and Ruizhang Zhou competed in the middle distance race over 6.6 km. Camilla Lüttgens, Paul Brenner, and Marc Steffens tackled the longest distance of 9.9 km.
A particular highlight was Camilla Lüttgens’ performance: With a time of 42:20 minutes and a pace of 4:16 minutes per kilometer, she was the second-fastest woman on the 9.9-kilometer course. An impressive performance given the summery conditions!
As always, even aside from the times, the focus was on the fun of running together. The mood was especially good thanks to the summery atmosphere, the long, bright evenings, and the post-run festivities. All participants could be proud of their performance and crossed the finish line safe and sound.

As is the case every year, the proceeds from the race will benefit various social projects in Aachen. This added motivation makes the Aachen Company Run a special experience every time.
