Data Stewards at RWTH Aachen – Interview With Kseniia Dukkart
Today, we would like to follow up on the series “What does a data steward actually do?” with a new interview under the title “Data Stewards at RWTH Aachen – Interview With […]”. You can find the previous interviews on the RDM blog.
The concept of data stewards is still abstract for many people. Therefore, it is best to show their specific work so that you, as readers of the RDM blog, can get a better idea of what they do. Dr. Kseniia Dukkart is available for today’s interview. We hope you enjoy reading it.

Workshop: Large Language Models and the Future of Scientific Publishing – Register Now!
Digitalization and the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) are increasingly changing the world of scientific publishing. Large Language Models (LLMs), which open up new perspectives and possibilities for scientific communication, are a central topic in this change. How these technologies can shape the future of scientific publishing will be intensively discussed in the upcoming workshop on February 11, 2025 in Frankfurt am Main.
Meeting of the RDM Network to Round Off the Year
Before we ring in the new year in 2025, we would like to take a look back at the past Meetings of the RDM Network at RWTH Aachen University and look forward to ending the year together at the Christmas Market.
Reflections on the Open Science Festival 2024 in Mainz
Three data stewards from the technical training and consulting group N. Parks, K. Dukkart and C. Gonzalez of the Research Process and Data Management (RPDM) Department recently had the opportunity to attend the third annual Open Science Festival held at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, an event dedicated to exploring the principles and practices of Open Science.
As in the previous year, the festival brought together a diverse group of participants—from students and researchers to decision-makers and Research Data Management (RDM) professionals under the inspiring motto: “Meet, Share, Inspire, Care”.

Review of Research Data Day 2024
“Into the data garden: Let your research bloom!” was the motto of last week’s nationwide Research Data Day (RDD) in North Rhine-Westphalia. This year’s RDD took place on November 12, 2024 and offered researchers and those interested in RDM an attractive range of information on the topic of Research Data Management (RDM). The aim of the event is to present current developments and services in the field of RDM, to increase the visibility of the topic and to strengthen networking within the community.
