Schlagwort: ‘Forschungsdatenmanagement’
RDM in Small Research Projects
The question of the right research data management (RDM) arises above all for researchers who are still at the beginning of their careers, but also for students who are already taking on smaller research projects. Since they have had little to no contact with RDM to that point, it is unclear to many how research data can be made usable in the long term. Recommendations for RDM in smaller projects can now be found in a new handout by the German Data Forum (RatSWD), part of the Consortium for the Social, Behavioural, Educational and Economic Sciences (KonsortSWD). A set of slides for university teachers was also published together with the handout.
Follow-up report – Coscine at NFDI ToolTalk
On March 20, 2023, Coscine was presented as part of the NFDI ToolTalk series. As previously announced in the NFDI Talks blog post, here is the post-event report on the digital event. What the contents of the presentation were, we have summarized for you in this post.
Data Competence Center DKZ.2R – The IT Center Is Part of It
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is funding the conception and subsequent establishment of data competence centers for science. Working with research data will continue to be a trend in the future, and for this the planned data competence centers are intended to provide relief for scientists by offering support and networking services. Together with Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), the IT Center of RWTH Aachen University is involved in the conception phase of the data competence center “DKZ.2R”.
Online Workshop – Forschungsdatenmanagement in DFG-Anträgen
Informationsteil:
- Förderstruktur DFG
- Antragsprozess DFG-Sachbeihilfe
- Neue Lebenslaufvorlage mit Eingabemöglichkeit für Daten-und Softwareprodukte
- Kosten FDM, Projektmittel und Grundausstattung
- Wegweiser zur Unterstützung im Antragsprozess an der RWTH
Hands-on-Session:
- Diskussion und Feedback zur Darstellung des FDMs im Antrag
Weitere Informationen zum Termin und zur Anmeldung entnehmen Sie der Veranstaltungsdatenbank der RWTH Aachen.
RDM Explained – How do I Cite Research Data?
The last article in the “RDM explains” series was about how to find research data. But what happens if you have found relevant data and use it in your scientific work? In order not to run the risk of unintentionally plagiarising, care should be taken to cite all sources in a scientifically correct manner. But how exactly do you do that with research data? In this article, we present important principles and possibilities.
This Was Research Data Day 2022 – A Look at The RWTH’s RDM-Compass
All good things come in three. After we already reported on the cross-site morning programme and the RWTH’s workshop offer on the RDM platform Coscine, this is the third follow-up report on the Research Data Day in NRW, which was held on November 15, 2022 under the motto “Lighthouse RDM: Orientation in the Sea of Data”.
Call For Papers: Contributions to Data Management Planning Sought
The international Data Science Journal is seeking contributions for a special volume on “Data Management Planning across Disciplines and Infrastructures“. The focus of the contributions should be on working with data management plans and their implementation. Articles can be submitted to the Data Science Journal until November 15, 2022.
RDM Projects from Germany – Data Literacy in NFDI
Data literacy describes the planned and competent handling of data. It is a key competency for effective Research Data Management (RDM).
“A high level of data literacy is more important than ever against the background of large, heterogeneous data volumes and demanding user programs,”
says NFDI Director Prof Dr York Sure Vetter [1]. For this reason, the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) e.V. association is striving to increase data literacy in science and has launched the Data Literacy in NFDI project for this purpose. As part of our series “RDM Projects from Germany”, we present the new project to you.
Research Data Day on November 15, 2022
On November 15, 2022 the Research Data Day in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) will be held for the second time. This time, the motto of the event is “Lighthouse RDM: Orientation in the data sea“.
On this day, events on research data management (RDM) will be held throughout NRW and various universities will present their RDM offerings. The complete programme can be found on the website of the State Initiative for Research Data Management – fdm.nrw.
Follow-up Report on the Open Meeting of the RDM Network on September 14, 2022
The wait has come to an end and the monthly RDM network meeting is back! After the summer break, data stewards, RDM managers and RDM interested parties from RWTH Aachen University came together again online via Zoom on September 14, 2022. This time, the participants learned about the RDM platform Coscine developed at RWTH and its functions.
