RWTH Young Academics Day 2024

The RWTH Young Academics Day (YAD) offers doctoral students and young researchers the opportunity to find out about career opportunities and further training options in science on September 5 2024, from 1pm to 6pm.

In addition to “Impulses, Networking & Ice Cream”, the program includes exciting lectures and the “Market place of RWTH Services”, where the RDM team will also be represented again.

The event is aimed at doctoral students, postdocs, research staff and science managers (permanent academic staff).

RDM and Coscine at the “RWTHtransparent”

Last Friday, January 26, 2024, the Rectorate of RWTH Aachen University hosted the annual “RWTHtransparent” event. Armin Maiwald from the show “Sendung mit der Maus” opened the event, which was aimed at guests from business, politics and civil society as well as RWTH employees, to report on current developments and successes at RWTH in 2023. Following the ceremony and the various award ceremonies, around 600 invited guests had the opportunity to take a closer look at the exhibition on research and teaching at the university and get to know various services.

Follow-up Report on the RDM Network Meeting in October 2023

On October 11, 2023, our open meeting of the RDM network for data stewards, RDM responsible persons and RDM interested persons of RWTH Aachen University took place again. The topic of the meeting was “Export Control and RDM”, presented by Mr. Nicolas Lunz as Export Control Officer of RWTH Aachen University.

Attention doctoral candidates and postdocs: The Center for Young Academics (CYA), together with the Vice-Rector for Human Resources Management and Development and Young Academics, Professor Sabine Brück-Dürkop, invites you to the annual Young Academics Day on August 31, 2023. Research Data Day 2023 – Save the Date

On 14 November 2023, the Research Data Day in NRW will celebrate its third birthday. This year, the motto is “Promoting and refining data: Bring your data treasure to light”. As in previous years, the RDM team at RWTH Aachen University will also be taking part in this state-wide day of action with an interesting afternoon programme. Finden Sie in der Veranstaltung heraus, ob Git das richtige Tool für Ihre Forschungsdaten ist.

Die Veranstaltung ist Teil einer Serie von Vertiefungsmodulen zum Forschungsdatenmanagement (FDM II – modular), die regelmäßig im Monatsrhythmus angeboten werden. Die Module stehen gleichwertig nebeneinander und können unabhängig voneinander besucht werden. Grundlagen zum FDM an der RWTH werden im RWTHmoodle-Kurs „Überblick zum Management von Forschungsdaten (FDM I – online)“ vermittelt.

Im online Workshop werden hands-on einfache Git-Befehle ausprobiert und grundlegende Arbeitsabläufe umgesetzt. Die Arbeit mit Git in der Konsole hilft, ein Grundverständnis für das Tool zu erlangen. Sie werden ausreichend Zeit haben, Ihre Fragen zu adressieren und über Einsatzszenarien und Ihre konkreten Arbeitsabläufe zu sprechen.
