The IT Center operates one of the fastest supercomputers in Germany. CLAIX is available to RWTH students in the context of teaching as well as to researchers from all German teaching and research institutions.
The IT Center’s High Performance Computing (HPC) group provides users with methodological support for the efficient use of CLAIX. In addition, the colleagues assist with serial and parallel programming, debugging, correctness analysis, runtime analysis and tunings.
As part of this HPC support, colleagues now offer digital HPC consultation hours on Thursdays, every four weeks from 2:00 – 3:00 pm.* In a question-and-answer format, you can ask HPC-related questions about the following topics:
- Cluster usage
- Parallel programming
- Performance analysis and optimization of self-written code
- Workflow optimization (e.g. job management and data processing)
- Efficient use of systems and software
- Software installation and usage
- Use for computing time on larger systems (Tier 2 and 1)
Date of the first consultation (*Attention: deviation in the time!):
Thursday, 07th October 2021 from 01.00 pm – 02.00 pm
