Some students and staff receive a connection error when trying to connect to eduroam on multiple Apple devices at once. The Apple keychain prevents connecting to eduroam when using multiple eduroam identifiers.

But What Is the Apple Keychain?

The Apple keychain is a system used to manage passwords and digital certificates. This means, for example, that passwords are entered automatically when you give permission to do so.

To help you avoid this problem, we offer you a step-by-step guide:

  1. Log in to the eduroam Device Manager with the RWTH Single Sign-On’s access data.
  2. Click on “Manage devices”.
  3. Delete all the identifiers that belong to your Apple devices.
  4. Create new eduroam credentials.
  5. Connect all your Apple devices with the new eduroam credentials.

For instructions on how to connect to the eduroam profile on iOS 5 through 12, please visit our IT Center Help page.

You are welcome to have a look at our FAQ about eduroam. There you will find more useful information.
