Not only can we do the maths, we can also run: At the 11th Aachen company run, the IT Center once again proved its sporting prowess and even took 3rd place in the individual classification! True to the motto “We’re not just good at computing”, the running team took the opportunity this year to grow together as a team and achieve new personal bests. Read our impressions of the sporting event of the year in this article.

On the Road in Aachen-Oberforstbach

This year, the IT Center was represented in both the 6.6 km and 9.9 km races. This meant that the runners had to complete the course two or three times. One lap led from Pascalstraße towards Nerscheider Weg, across the premises of SCHUMAG AG to the infield on Pascalstraße and back to Pascalstraße. The weather also played along on this day, giving the participants of the company run glorious temperatures and sunshine – it was a beautiful late summer/early fall day.

• Marc Steffens ran the 6.6 km middle distance in 48:49.5 minutes.
• Camilla Lummerzheim was the third fastest woman, running the 9.9 km in 40:53.8 minutes. Congratulations!
• Marcel Vogler needed 50:04.8 minutes for the three laps.
• Lina-Louise Kaulbach ran the 9.9 km in 50:26.2 minutes.
• Bogdan Noskov crossed the finish line after 52:05.3 minutes.
• Jannis Hahn ran the 9.9 km in 56:10.2 minutes and
• Patrik Stärk in 1 hour 11:16
• Christian Maintz finished his run in 1 hour 14:28.9 minutes.

Congratulations to all participants – especially those from the IT Center and especially to Camilla for her place on the podium.

As every year, the proceeds of the event will be donated to various Aachen institutions. The Aachen Company Run supports selected projects in Aachen that deal with various topics related to health and sports, but also with social integration and non-violence.
