Today, the induction team from the Service & Communication department (SeKo) is introducing itself to you. The team consists of 3 employees (Alice, Daniel and Jonathan) who use a constantly evolving induction concept to prepare new team members for support at our IT-ServiceDesk.
Focus on Our Induction Concept
Our own induction concept comprises various elements aimed at ensuring comprehensive familiarisation with the support of the various services. Every new employee (mentee) is assigned an experienced mentor who provides personal support throughout the entire induction period. The induction programme, which usually lasts 2-3 months, includes 2 theoretical phases interspersed with a practical phase.
During the theoretical phases, our mentees familiarise themselves with our supported services in so-called connoisseur appointments. They are trained by our experts in the respective services.
They receive ongoing support from the induction team (EA team). Another important part of our induction programme is the Moodle learning room (EAL) set up for induction, which provides space for further training and exchange.
Practical Familiarisation
A particular highlight is the option to poke your nose into all IT services. These diverse insights enable new team members to discover possible specialisations at an early stage.
Our team is made up of colleagues from a wide variety of backgrounds and professional experiences – be it in the fields of computer science, communication sciences, humanities and linguistics, social sciences or business administration. We attach great importance to providing each new member with a suitable mentor with the appropriate background experience.
The Service & Communication department lives a welcoming culture towards every single new employee, trainee or student assistant. Open communication characterised by appreciation is a matter of course for our entire department.
We look forward to welcoming new talent to our organisation – whether as a student assistant, trainee or employee.
