Central IT provision only works with good communication and by exchanging information with local IT managers at the institutions – and this is exactly what the RWTH Admin Round Table is for. For over 14 years, it has provided a platform for administrators and IT enthusiasts to exchange information on current university-related IT topics throughout RWTH. The round table is organised by a dedicated team of five from various institutions and the IT Center.
More Than Just a Meeting
Two to three times a year, not only the IT Center, but also colleagues from other central facilities, institutes and chairs report on topics that are currently of interest. In addition to concise information, there is also room for feedback and an exchange of experiences in lively discussions. Your feedback will flow directly into our activities and the further development of our services – in a concrete and practical way.

Der oben genannte Anspruch widerspricht leider meiner Wahrnehmung. Für mich ist die Adminrunde leider immer mehr zu einer Vortrags-Veranstaltung geworden wo die Teilnehmer bitte zuhören und schweigen. Fragen bitte im Chat. Das aus dem Plenum spontan ein neues Thema angesprochen wird, ist in meiner Wahrnehmung nicht gewünscht und ist häufig auch zeitlich nicht möglich. Die Beschreibung oben passt in meiner Erinnerung mehr zu den Admin Treffs vor der Pandemie.
Ich verstehe allerdings die Vorteile des Online Meetings, es ist sicherlich für viele wesentlich einfacher Teilzunehmen.

Ob zukünftig wieder eine Präsenz-Adminrunde stattfinden wird, haben wir intern zur Diskussion gestellt.
