On September 26, 2025, it was once again time to say “O’zapft is!” – the IT Center invited guests to its traditional Oktoberfest. Daniel Bündgens, Chief Executive Director of the IT Center, opened the festivities with a warm welcome and got the numerous guests in the mood for a lively evening full of Bavarian atmosphere.
Oktoberfest Olympics
As tradition dictates, four highly motivated teams competed against each other in the Oktoberfest Olympics again this year. The teams were “SuB,” “Partyteam,” “Bierbyte,” and “Kater-Kommando/Jodel-Jedi.”
In disciplines such as beer mug obstacle course, beer mug lifting, nail beam, hooks, and horseshoe throwing, the teams competed in exciting competitions and provided excellent entertainment. After a thrilling neck-and-neck race, the “Partyteam” team finally secured a well-deserved first place – congratulations!
Special thanks go to the Partyteam, who not only actively participated in the Olympics, but were also responsible for organizing the entire festival. They had prepared a prize for the winning team in the form of a Bavarian specialty. However, as they themselves won the competition, they generously decided to pass on the traditional gingerbread hearts to the runners-up – a nice gesture that once again underlined the team spirit and festive atmosphere.

Festive Atmosphere
Of course, the appropriate outfit was also a must: numerous guests came in dirndls and lederhosen, creating an authentic Oktoberfest atmosphere. There was plenty of food and drink to keep everyone happy: with pretzels, Obazda cheese, Leberkas meatloaf, and a fresh Maß of beer, there was something for every taste. Even the Weißwurst sausage with sweet mustard had something for everyone: in addition to the classic version, there was also a vegan alternative to choose from.
Celebrating Together
The evening was rounded off with lively music, a few dancing feet, and lots of cheerful conversation. Despite the cool temperatures in late summer, the mood remained exuberant until the early hours.
A big thank you goes to the dedicated party team, whose hard work and organizational skills made this Oktoberfest a success. And, of course, to the IT Center management, who always make such celebrations possible.
We are already looking forward to Oktoberfest 2026 at the IT Center!
