Review of SC25: HPC Highlights From St. Louis

The Supercomputing Conference 2025 (SC25), one of the world’s most important conferences in the field of high-performance computing, took place this year in St. Louis, Missouri (USA). Under the motto “HPC ignites,” around 15,000 participants gathered to discuss current research results, technological developments, and future trends in supercomputing. The IT Center was represented by three participants, who took the opportunity to exchange ideas with international experts and gain valuable insights from the vibrant HPC community.

Recently, we had the honour of experiencing a remarkable talk by Bronis R. de Supinski, the CTO of Livermore Computing, who dove deep into the design and insights behind the NNSA (National Nuclear Security Administration, part of the United States Department of Energy) Exascale System, El Capitan.

This year at SC21, from November 14-19, thousands of researchers, developers, students, exhibitors, managers, and speakers from institutes of all shapes and sizes will gather to share ideas about the power of high performance computing (HPC) and discover the latest innovations.
