Beat the Corona Winter Blues – Traditions
Do you also know someone like Freddie? Freddie starts singing the Christmas carols from her childhood already in November and she already does the shopping list for the Christmas baking.
She has a “backwards Advent calendar” which counts the 24 days until the Advent calendar starts on December 1st. Advent is then celebrated with great delight; this puts her in a good mood, despite bad weather and Corona.
Winter and especially the Christmas season enjoy us with many beautiful traditions and customs: fairy lights, candles, Christmas cookies, punch, Advent calendar, Christmas music, and many more. Maybe you also have some favorite traditions that you remember from your childhood, like Freddie? And as locals in Aachen, we certainly love our Aachener Printen. How about treating the corona winter blues with a delicious printen treatment?

Mentoring Whispers
“Together” is essential in times like these.
The corona hygiene regulations require for us to be physically distant- but that doesn’t mean that we can’t stay socially connected.
How about meeting your freshmen group over an online conferencing tool or starting the day chatting with your study group? Take a virtual coffee break with someone, have a chat with your favorite sister, call your grandpa on the phone or go for a walk with your best friend.
Student life is more enjoyable together and nothing is more pleasant than a smile, a little chat, a good conversation or a joke that makes you laugh. And things, which make you sad or angry, become easier to take for you, when you share them with someone. Even if you just meet in the virtual world.
After all “We cannot live alone without being harmed.” (Remo Largo)
And “Ensemble, c’est tout!” (Anna Gavalda)

Are you still looking for a last minute gift for your loved ones? This year, the Aachen Christmas Market has also entered the virtual world as an association of Öcher businesses that support each other during this difficult time. Here you have the chance to support your favorite stores from the comfort of your own home.
We hope that, despite the changes that have just occurred, you will still be able to get your gifts in time – otherwise many people will also be delighted to be gifted with vouchers.
