Following the successful 2024 event at RWTH Aachen, the Research Data Management Working Group of the TU9 Alliance, in cooperation with FIZ Karlsruhe, and RDM@KIT are inviting data stewards, data managers, data curators, and other experts from the fields of research data management and research software engineering experts to this year’s workshop, “Data Stewardship goes Germany.”
What to Expect – Networking and Knowledge Exchange: Focus On Data Stewardship
The upcoming workshop days will focus on the central topic of “Research Data Management (RDM) in Science and Technology” and are particularly aimed at data stewards (also known as research data handling officers) and anyone interested in RDM.
The Data Stewardship goes Germany (DSgG) workshop will bring together data stewards, data managers, data curators, and other RDM and research software engineering experts. It offers an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences, as well as to discuss current challenges and developments in data stewardship and RDM.
This year, the focus is on “Data Stewardship in Everyday Research: Use Cases and Best Practices.” The following aspects will be covered, among others:
- Achieving data interoperability through machine-readable formats and metadata
- Use of electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs), repositories, and other tools in RDM and research software development
- Collaboration with the NFDI to create synergies and provide helpful tools
- Ensuring the reproducibility of research data and results
Participants can look forward to exciting plenary lectures, interactive discussion panels, and an exchange of best practices. The full program for this year’s DSgG is available on the Indico page.
