DFG Recommends Funding for 3 NFDI Consortia With RWTH Participation
The network shows the collaboration intentions between the consortia resulting from each application. The colors refer to the NFDI conference system: (1) medicine, (2) life sciences, (3) humanities and social sciences, (4) engineering and mathematics, (5) chemistry and physics.

New year, new luck! In the third round of calls for proposals, the DFG’s expert panel has recommended funding for several NFDI consortia. RWTH Aachen University is also high on the list this year. Find out which NFDI consortia have received a recommendation in this blog post.
3rd Open Data Impact Award – Stifterverband Once Again Seeks Innovative Open Data

As part of its initiative innOsci – Forum for Open Innovation Culture, the Stifterverband is announcing the Open Data Impact Award for the third time. The initiative aims to make Open Data in science more visible and strengthen it. The cooperation partner is DUZ – Magazin für Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft. A funding amount totalling 30,000 euros will be provided.

Follow-up Report on the Open Meeting of the RDM Network on June 8, 2022

On June 8, 2022, the data stewards, RDM managers and people interested in RDM at RWTH Aachen University met again online via Zoom for the regular open meeting of the RDM network. The event took place under the motto Networking of Data Stewards and RDM Managers and offered the opportunity for participants to network with each other and to get to know the various activities and RDM tasks better.

Whether messages in social networks, digital photos, documents, or videos – we want to access all this data for as long as possible. But permanent access to digital data is not only an important issue in the private sphere, but also in the research context. The long-term usability of research data is a prerequisite for scientific progress. This article therefore offers a brief introduction to digital preservation.
One Year FAIR Data Spaces – What Has Happened so Far?

In May, the “FAIR Data Spaces” project celebrated its first anniversary. The project application was submitted to the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) at the beginning of April last year. The funding already started on May 17, 2021. Since then, the FAIR Data Spaces community has been built up and the first milestones have been reached together. In this blog post, we take a look at what has happened in the last year.
Archiving With Coscine – A Field Report

Recently, the IT Center Blog team reported on the large-scale project “The Archive Migration” – What has happened so far” of the IT Center and RWTH Aachen University. By 30 June 2022, the archive migration should be completed and all classified archive nodes transferred to Coscine and the DigitalArchive. Archiving research data has already been possible with Coscine since last year. In this article, we address some queries from researchers and explain the background to why you should archive your research data with Coscine.
